American student applying to Hong Kong University?

Hey, I'm not really applying here, but one of my relatives got me interested in this college. I bet admissions are already over but I have been searching all over for acceptance statistics, because I am curious.

I was born in California, but I know some decent, but not terriblly good, Cantonese (parents from HK)

So I was wondering what SAT scores, GPA, or extracurriculars does it take to get in?

Is it easier to get in if your an international?

Are admissions over?

My Stats (not terribly good)

(10-11th) Grade GPA: 3.57
Total GPA: 3.6
SAT: 1910
SAT 2 Chemistry: 730
SAT 2 Math 2C: 710

AP Chem: 3
AP Biology: 4
AP Comp Sci: 2 :(

With 1910 on SAT I think you have a decent chance of getting in.

they still accept late applications in some of the programmes, but they say that they will only look at very outstanding students and the admission rate of late applicants is at most 5%.

i couldnt find any stats on HKU’s sat scores (i googled and googled and googled… -.-) but seems like these things remaint confidential at HKU. But at the big HKU vs HKUST thread, most of the people who got in had 2000+ and especially the ppl who had scholarships, they had 2100+/2200+…

i dunno if admission is easier for international students coz the anwers varies a lot. Some say is easier coz a school wants more diversity. Some say is harder coz they only wanna pick the best of the best… i hope this helps…:)

haha okay thanks. i might consider transferring, but I have to see if I can get into UC Irvine first
