Hi, can anyone give me an idea of how good you have to be to be accepted at the Hong Kong University? I am talking GPA's, SAT scores and extra-curricula's! An example of someone who got in and their stats would be nice! Also it asks American applicants to send their SAT scores, could I also send my scores evn though I am not from the USA? Any feedback would be great! Thanks :)

Well I don't have much to contribute but can I know why you're applying to HKU by any chance? I've known several people who've gone onto HKU from my international school. I'm thinking about possibly applying as well. Deadlines are Jan 26 no?

I am still looking into the university, so I don't know enough about it yet to make it one of my choices but I do know that I would like to work in Hong Kong, so I figured the best thing to do would be to get a degree from a HK university! These people you've known, what sort of level were they at (academically) do you know their SAT scores or GPA's?

Not sure about specific date of deadlines, but I know we still have a while to go!

Well... i think it depends on what courses you are planning to take in HKU. I heard medicine is extremly difficult to get in. But other im not sure.

I got in to HKU for Economics. Just check my old post to see my scores. Too lazy to list them out now.

Peace. Hope this help. Btw I don't think they look too much at the SAT scores...More of the A-levels, extracuricular and interviews

Can one get in with O levels? Also, do they give generous aids?

u cant get in with O levels unless u've got at least 6As in it

That means i can apply if i have more than 6As, right? Are they generous in aid?

Do they even have aid or scholarships for internationals?

not sure abt the aid sorry, but yes I think u can apply with more than 6As

it's alot easier for internationals.....

for locals though.. u gotta be a straight A student and hardcore academics
