yeah I just tried and got no where and then I saw ea…and thought they don’t offer au?
So decisions go out Monday snail mail, is that correct?
Anyone know when they send out the mail?
@beastmode69 read the comment above yours my friend
So,
It comes on physical mail tomorrow? During what time?
Also, how do they keep track of demonstrated interest? I went to a campus visit And tour.
@Acortez122 It gets mailed out tomorrow, don’t expect anything in the mail until AT LEAST the end of the week if you’re not located in the northeast. (Obviously it would come at the normal time your mail arrives??) Also, demonstrated interest is a very subjective factor, I don’t know how they would track it other than you mentioning in your writing that you had visited
@noah2425 and @Acortez122 - if you signed up online for the campus visit and tour and then were asked to “check in” when you arrived . . . you’re being tracked. If you send an email with a question to your admissions counselor, that too is tracked. If they sent you an email and you opened it, that’s tracked. The schools have software that keeps track of all of that data which shows how many times you’ve demonstrated interest. They then use that information to gauge how interested they think you are.
That’s why it’s important to register online and then visit if you can, or in the very least attend the information session that takes place after school and make sure you give them your information, or set up an interview locally when the counselors come to your area, perhaps email a thoughtful question, etc. There are some schools that say that they don’t keep track and demonstrated interest is not relevant when they’re reviewing applications, but if you still have to register online and are then directed to check in when you arrive and give your name, I’m not so sure
So weird that they track you. Everything is so creepy these days! Also, visiting and opening an email don’t mean you want to go there.
anyone know when I should expect it if I’m in NJ?
@xinabess - true, just because you open it doesn’t mean you definitely want to go there … but if you never open any of their emails, it sends the message that you’re really not interested at all, and I’m told American definitely wants to see demonstrated interest as they don’t want to be used as a safety school for other colleges in DC. Letters go out today. Good luck everyone!
Has anybody been able to sign into the MyAU portal? Know this was a way for people to check last year, not sure if its too early on this year.
I tried today but used the application au id…it says you aud id from letter? LMK if anyone gets in that way.
to create a portal account we need to use the AU ID provided in the admission letter. i guess that’s how they fixed the loophole from last year by issuing new AU IDs. hopefully they get mailed today!
that makes sense…we are in California…so a long wait…and we are heading out of town Thursday night…uggg
I’m in NJ. Should I expect one today? My mail came in and nothing
@arcortez122 If they’re mailing it out today, it likely doesn’t even reach any post offices until tomorrow, and then assuming it’s a first class package I wouldn’t even expect anything until later in week
So nothing on AUportal or email right? The only way to know is physical mail?
On Twitter a few hours ago, American University said they’re making a major announcement later today… hmmm
I just saw that…they posted 6 hours ago so 9am EST………I am on West coast…so what time is later today?
When ED II came out, they posted letters are out today… I wouldn’t hold my breath that it’s more than that
