I’ve just been accepted as an international student with a Merit Dean’s Scholarship of $10,000!
I have a GPA of 3.9/4.0, a 32 ACT, and 6 AP scores ranging from 4-5s.
For those wondering, according to the letter, approximately 19,000 students applied for the 1,760 spaces in the Class of 2023. I’m not sure if this is referring to the people that applied RD alone, or includes ED applicants as well. Either way, this year is looking to be quite a competitive application year for AU.
Good luck to all the students who applied from the US — I hope you get your letters soon!
jany01–any demonstrated interest?
I am kinda worried about that considering other high stat students relative to AU’s CDS
@jany01 More than 1760 people get accepted since not all who are accepted choose to attend. They are aiming for a class of 1760 applicants.
@Acortez122 I technically showed no demonstrated interest as I never visited (I live really far from the US, so doing in-person campus visits was too inconvenient).
I never showed demonstrated interest but I still got in with a scholarship. I don’t think it matters too much
Have any students from the Northeast of the US gotten their RD decision letters yet??
@km2019 I live in NY and my mail comes between 2-4 I’ll keep ya’ll updated
mail in NJ comes in 2-3, but I really do expect it to be on Thursday evening if one is living in the Northeast
@km2019 Mail comes to me in northeast/mid-Atlantic (within 100 miles of DC on 95) at 11am everyday. Thought it might be just an overnight trip but, no, nothing today. Probably an envelope tomorrow if they got in the system Monday.
nothing in maryland yet (45 mins away from DC)
Nothing in NY either
Nothing in DC suburb
I think they send it regular mail, not overnight.
In Maryland too… same here… nothing yet. My son told me to text him at school if something comes in.
@OUBOBCAT92 - will you be allowed to open it or will you have to wait til he gets home? The curiousity would kill me
@familyfromLI …He was going back and forth with should I let my parents open it or not. Then last night he said,”no.” I am just to text him that something came in ( waiting on other schools as well). This is his experience so we are letting him decide on what to do.
That’s not to say I won’t hold it up to the light if it’s a big envelope. If it’s small, we know what that means.
I love in ny and nothing lol. Hopefully tomorrow, I leave for a model un conference in dc (at gw actually) thursday morning
We live in MD about 9 miles from AU…no mail yet today but informed delivery didn’t show anything coming. But I ran out on an errand and there was a fedex unable to deliver sticker on our door but I can’t believe they send them fedex?
@OUBOBCAT92 - Dang, mine just got home and told me he wants to open it personally too. I may have to consider steaming it open and then resealing it. The wait is torturous
@familyfromLI We are in the same boat, but this just one of the many “college experience memories” that the kids will go through and I’m realizing now what my folks felt like with me some 30’years ago…lol?!
