If the university of Georgia is my dream school would I like American university? Does American have a good party/social scene? Is the local area good for nightlife? Is there a football environment at all?
These two schools are going to be pretty different. American has no football team at all; obviously Georgia is a D-1 SEC powerhouse football school. American is much smaller and is private. Its students tend to be interested in politics and international affairs (not all, of course, but it the main draw of the University). American has the advantage of being in the nation’s capital, but Athens, Georgia routinely makes the list of top college towns. If Georgia is your dream school, I don’t really see American as being a close match.
