Americans living abroad

Hi everyone,
I'm an American living in another country and am really interested in MIT. I've been living abroad since 6th grade. Technically I'm not considered an international applicant but is there anyone else who was in the same situation? As a junior I'm just trying to get any advice/words of advice.
thanks in advance

Do you have a social security number? If not, then get one. You'll need it when you fill out those financial aid applications. I'm living abroad too, and I don't have an SSN, so I just thought I'd tell you to get one now instead of waiting for the last possible minute and beginning to miss deadlines.

Like some people.

yeah I have a ssn. Thanks for the heads up though..

I don't have an SSN either and I'm missing deadlines too.

To anyone else reading this: make sure you get one ASAP!

amrik, Our daughter applied to MIT this year and when I saw that you are from Trinidad, I had to say "hello" because we enjoyed three wonderful years in your country! I'm surrounded by snow now and dreaming of Maracas beach! Good luck with your college applications.

Thanks! :)
