I have a 3.87 weighted GPA and a 34 on the ACT. Decent extracurriculars. In addition, my aunt, uncle and father all went to Amherst. What are my chances of getting in ED?

Within your ECs how is your leadership and community service? Also can you calculate your unweighted GPA?

im the managing editor of my newspaper and i have about 100 hours of community service. and a 3.73 unweighted, 3.85 unweighted junior year (my school uses a 4.0 scale)

The GPA could be a little higher and more ECs would be better. But the high ACT and legacy should help. You are around a low reach. Make sure your essays and recommendations are amazing!

does it mean much that i got into the kenyon review summer program and the iowa young writers program and i won 4 scholastic writing awards? or are those just superfluous

i hate being one of those people butttttttttttttttttttt… bump

If the scholastic awards where national yes, regional still yes, but less so. I can’t speak to the programs. But remember that college admissions generally values academics more then summer program admissions.

thank you for your help!
