Hi I've been accepted these schools, but I need help on deciding which one to attend. I'm interested at attending a school that has a prestigious undergraduate program, and I hope to work in ib or consulting after graduation.

Here are my concerns for each school:
Amherst: The student body is very small.
Dartmouth: The location is far from NYC, where the big investment banks are.
Johns Hopkins: Don't know how well grads place into ib.
Oberlin: The student body is small.
Uchicago: The acceptance rate for the class of 2013 is still over 25% despite the fact that the school now use the commonapp.

The undergrad program at which school is most prestigious and does best at placing students into ib?
Which school should I choose?

Hopkins is not a target school for IB BB firms… I’m a public health major at Johns Hopkins and Bain & Company, Deloitte and Accenture consulting firms etc… recruits here. I’m considering an MPH/MBA or MHA/MBA to do healthcare administration and eventually healthcare consulting in the future… Possibly work for Deloitte after I graduate… get them to pay for my MBA: There are ppl who go into IB… A close friend landed an internship at UBS over the summer and will be paid $20 an hour working 70 hr weeks…

Probably Dartmouth or UChicago for IB and consulting…

Chicago is exceptional for IB and Dartmouth just owns in business in general…

I have kids at Amherst and Dartmouth. Both would choose Dartmouth if they had the choice again.

Far from the banks? Dartmouth will get you as close as you care to be, it has a much more powerful ibanking network than any of your other choices by far.

As a 30 year ibanker with a son interested in a banking career, my son choose to ED Dartmouth because there was no better choice for his goal.

imperfect315 - Now I know that some of my concerns may not affect the quality of the education that I would receive. My concerns for each school may sound ignorant to you, but I had to point them out because every little advantage/disadvantage may sway my decision.

UChicago SAT/ACT 25-75% are the same as most of the ivies and over 93% in top 10% of class, puts it as the same as most of them. They just have more qualified applicants and don’t get random crappy ones.

Although tons of IBs do not come to campus, Hopkins has a great network of alumni who do work at IBs. One of my closest friends did 2 summers at a top IB
