Amherst DIVOH Questions

What if you checked off both?

i think that you’ll get put into which ever one has less applicants

doctoribach - the website says you have to be a US resident. They won’t pay for internationals to attend.

That is not correct. There are many colleges and universities that superscore the ACT. most of the highly selective ones do, including Amherst, Williams, Wesleyan, and Brown (we were not interested in HYPS so I don’t recall on them, but I believe a few of them did also). You can google the list of colleges that superscore the ACT; it is over 50. What I don’t understand is why there are some (fortunately not the ones my son is looking at ) that still do not superscore the ACT but do superscore the SAT. That makes no sense at all to me.

@jennieling: yay! my composite goes up by 2 if you superscore it!

here is a list of college that superscore: [Colleges that superscore the ACT College Admissions Counseling](Colleges that superscore the ACT - BS/MD Admissions by College Admissions Partners)

How late in August are we talking about?

I checked off both :(…

I hope I hear soon

Anyone hear anything yet :o

AHHHH! I CAN’T WAIT ANY LONGER!!! haha

I called recently and they said that we would hear this week…

Only two days left, not including today :P

I’m IN!!! Anyone else going to Sept. program?

I will be at October program :D

Is there a invitation from DIVOH or can any one who is “diversity” eligible can apply

Anyone can apply.

Also, just as a side note. Last year I applied to DIVOH and WOW (similar program at Williams) and I was rejected by Amherst’s program and accepted by Williams’. I hated Williams after the visit and was set on another school. Come admissions season, I was pleasantly surprised when I was accepted to Amherst and wait listed at Williams. I’m attending Amherst this fall. Basically I just wanted to make it known that these programs are an indicator of admissions results but in no way are they a final decision.

In general, how competitive is it supposed to be? Is it more competitive than the actual admission or less? I’m anxious to see if I made it!

Anyone hear results of 2013 program? My understanding is that it is fiercely competitive.

Received my acceptance moments ago. Apparently their coming out in waves.

I got into the Sept. Program :)))))))

I got into the October program.
Can someone help me convince my parents? They refuse to look past the ivy leagues :(.
