@Shuyuuuuuuu, I can’t say for certain, but I don’t think that means anything. I hope you get in!
Since Amherst specifically asks whether we’ve worked on a research project and if we’ve been to Intel or Siemens, does it mean that they give a lot of importance to this stuff? The reason I ask is because I’m an Indian (they pick only 1 Indian each year) and I have a 32 ACT and a ton of financial aid requirement, but have represented India and won at the Intel ISEF thrice, including the minor planet thingy by the Lincoln Lab. Do you think ISEF can compensate for the low ACT score?
@clueless96: low? what do you mean low? That’s crazy amazing. If you don’t make it, it’s not because you’re not a good candidate, because you are.
@Shuyuuuuuuu Me too.
I hope we both get in! See u in Amherst:)
Thanks @Shuyuuuuuuu, I very much hope to see you too.
Around what time are the decisions coming out?
Amherst hasn’t specified any time. The email just said late Friday
I thought I saw somewhere that it would be 6pm EST.
@Anxiousdad53 thanks!
I probably won’t go to sleep today so that I can crash in the morning and wake up in time for the decisions.
I hate when these schools don’t post times. Hopefully you’re right about 6 though!
I think it’s worse when they say a specific time and then they can’t stick to it! @Smythe At least being vague gives them a cushion
Hard to believe decisions are already coming out tomorrow…The long wait is about to be over.
Good Luck everyone!

Coped this from last year’s RD thread so apologies for any grammatical irregularities haha.
@specter97 It just says “You do not have any financial aid messages.” ??
Ohhh, wow screw this I got rejected or waitlisted.
I am unsure how this works for those that did not apply for financial aid at Amherst but there was an observation made last year (also in 2014) that the message you receive varies based on whether you were accepted or not.
