Obviously decisions are a long ways off, but I’m an impatient kind of person and I thought this might serve as a place to congregate or commiserate, as needed. Good luck to everyone who applied!!!
So, here’s a question I have for y’all… Which supplemental essay did you choose? I did Option A, Prompt 4. How did you pick?
I did Option B, since I already had an essay that might work.
Have you guys received the confirmation email? Amherst and Nyu are the only colleges that haven’t sent the email. I haven’t been able to access my account
@Ramsay9, I submitted my application on December 30th and received a link to the portal on January 2nd. Have you been able to log in yet?
Anyone know when decisions have come out in previous years?
@kassh4 According to IvyWise, decisions were released on:
March 24, 2017
March 25, 2016
April 1, 2015 (?)
It sounds like decisions typically come out “in the evening,” and the past two years’ dates have been the Friday or the Saturday before the last week in March.
@AWrinkleInTime Yess, it was the in the promotions section in my email. Never checked it until yesterday
I just received an early write! Did anyone else get one?
I got in!! As an international student! I’m so happy <3
My daughter also just got an email today! Got a separate email from financial aide but we have not been able to open the link.
So if we didn’t receive that email are we out of the running? was it a likely letter or an acceptance letter? Freaking out over here need some more info.
@Laura7777 It was an acceptance letter, but it was only sent to some applicants and the majority of them will still be notified
how many people get these early writes? Congrats to all who got them
also received an early acceptance. Congrats to everyone
My son received his acceptance email today. He is super excited and Amherst College is high on his list! Good luck to the class of 2022…wherever you attend!
The majority of decisions are released at the end of the month so don’t freak out.
The “early” letters are for a small group who need to arrange transportation (via Amherst) to accepted student weekend.
That makes sense, we are on the West Coast.
I don’t think that’s true. I’m an international applicant and haven’t received a letter. I think the early acceptances are to serve the same purpose as likelies: make the college seem like a more attractive option for the students who get them so they are more likely to enroll.
I was just admitted as well, and was pretty confused until I actually read through the whole acceptance letter beyond just the “congratulations” bit.
This purpose is apparently to bring a very diverse group of students for a weekend, socioeconomically, ethnically, and otherwise to encourage them to attend.
