I heard the max time to take SAT is 3 because after 3 tests, they average scores (and I don't want to average scores).

What about the ACT?
Is there a similar condition?
How many times max for ACT?

thank you.

I don’t think there is a set max for the SAT. The college board will not average scores.

No college averages SAT or ACT scores. They use, depending on college, either the test with the highest composite or the highest section scores from multiple tests. However, some mention your taking the test multiple times (e.g., more than twice) may be something considered along with all the other information. What the heck that ambiguous statement means, no one really knows. A real issue with going beyond three times is the reality that if you haven’t already seen a significant improvement each retake, a fourth is not likely to make a difference.
