AMS 10 or MATH 21?

For my game design major, it says that I can either take AMS 10: Mathematical Methods for Engineers I, or Math 21 (linear algebra).

Can anyone who's taken one of these classes explain to me the difference? And which one is more useful for my major?

Game design major here. I took Math 21. From bumping into some AMS10 sections in the computer lab, I can say that the content of the two classes is very similar. The big difference is that AMS10 uses Matlab, which isn’t useful to game design majors in my experience. Math 21 goes a bit deeper and covers more, from what I hear. If you intend to focus on graphics, you probably want to take Math 21, as you’ll need to be awesome at 3-D math (matricies).

How about for computer engineering major?

Don’t think it makes a particular difference in your case.
