Hey guys I bought a $2 AMSCO APUSH book on a whim. When I was reading it, I noticed it was published in 1998. So my question is, is there any major difference between the newer versions and the version I have?

Thanks CC

Since I don’t have the 1998 version, I couldn’t tell you for sure. I’m thinking that the result of the Revolutionary War is the same in both books…
No, but seriously, the only likely difference is in the practice tests. The newer the edition, the more recent the practice tests were the real tests, perhaps?

pretty much the same. Just supplement it by doing practices tests online or something.

Do you think there are any major things I’ll be missing because it’s an older version?

Bush election, terrorism in 2001, etc.

Where did you buy it for $2? I need this too. Thanks in advance.

If you go to one of your local used book stores, there are usually all kinds of review books that cost a fraction of their actual price. I get a lot of my books for english there. (The fact that my teacher has us annotate them to the point where they are practically unreadable doesn’t bother me as much, knowing that I paid one dollar for a book that was worth twenty-five dollars a year ago, when it was brand-new.)

^^Any specific names of retailers which stock used books?

Powell’s Books in Oregon does. (You can order from them online.)
I know a few local places that wouldn’t be of any help unless you are in California.

You really only need to know up to Clinton for the AP exam, and even so the chances of them testing past Reagan are very very slim.

I am in California, so which used bookstores here would you recommend?

In Orange, CA there is Bookman (They also have an online site) and One Dollar Books (Actual name of store).

S got a 5 in AP History and a 800 on the subject test. I bought that book for him first —before anything and he read it cover to cover–twice. Swears by it.

There’s not much difference. New versions only added some stuff up to George W. Bush’s time. The AP test usually only has 1-2 multiple choice questions on Reagan or Clinton era. Not knowing 1 or 2 questions won’t kill you, and if you really wanted to read up on what happened in Clinton or Bush administration, then just read the textbook your teacher lends you for APUSH class.

there is also something called Amazon.com that has cheap used book.
