Is it possible to read most of the Amsco APUS book before Friday (the day of the AP test)? My teacher was... well, let's say lacking. I just want to pass the exam. A 4 would be great, considering the teacher, but I'd be happy with just passing.

Yeah, I used it last year. I got a four. Just sit down and read ALL of it.

Yes possible, you just gotta move. I read half of it back in January, and just started reading it from the beginning yesterday evening (am a little less then half way through). So yes, it’s definitely not too late.

Very possible! I’m rereading it this week, and I’ve done 221 pages today. If you read about 200 pages per day, you’ll have read the entire thing by Friday!

How long is it taking you guys to read 200 pages at a time?

I started studying a week before the APUSH exam. I only got through half of the amsco book and got a 5. I think you’ll be fine if you just sit down and read it everyday. Make sure you can answer the questions at the end of each chapter before going on to the next

To read “intensively” 200 pages takes me about two and a half hours.

Thanks for the answers. Just one more thing. How accurate are the questions at the end of each chapter? I’ve been doing fairly well on them, and I’m wondering if the real APUSH questions are similar.

Some people think the AMSCO questions are harder, but personally, I think they are just right. The questions aren’t really similar to the way the AP exam would be, so there is some difference there.

Having read AMSCO cover to cover and having received a 5, I think the book alone is enough to prepare you. Good luck on the test.

I just finished the AMSCO book and I feel so ready for this test. I also finished it in like a week so you should be fine.
Good luck!

^^Ha, I’m testing that idea come this Friday…the ONLY thing I’ve read from is Amsco, I don’t have the class and I’ve more or less forgotten stuff from Amer. History (took it in summer, too!). Hope to get a 5, but I honestly have no idea how I’ll do even after reading cover-to-cover, and re-reading half the book.

yes I’ll be doing that

amsco is a great book, just very very very boring. I could never read over 200 pages of it in one sitting
