Unfortunately, even if I had been accepted to Caltech, I would not be able to attend this event. Thus, I was wondering if you could take a couple of pictures of campus, dorms, lecture halls, other people, some otherwise interesting things and post it somewhere online. Even though I am writing this from a rather selfish perspective of getting a feeling of what Caltech is physically (I know what academic, social and meteorological(:)) atmosphere there is like), I am quite sure many aspiring applicants could benefit from such a collection.

Caltech is the prettiest campus I've ever seen. Flowers and trees abound. Pools of water with genetic code painted on bottom. Ponds and bridges. Spanish style architect. Frogs in pond. Fruited trees make it smell great.

The South Hovses are really pretty too, I swear! ;) But for some reason the only pictures I've ever taken of them were Interhouse construction photos.

I have to admit: Caltech is one of the ugliest campuses I've ever seen. It's old and run-down, the cafeteriaa are worse than high school ones and the dorms are graffitied inside. Low buidings and ****ty (but expensive!) houses surrounding it....and there's a cannon...I went on a tour and this indian kid fainted (literally) during the tour...

lol yea... especially the part about our "cafeteriaa" being worse than high school ones. I LOVE Chandler food... so good. (Granted, our dinner food isn't great, but Chandler definitely is. I've never met a person who gives it a negative review.)

The "graffiti" is actually student-done murals (with paint and materials paid for by Housing even.) I figure a lot of the prefrosh would be interested, so here are a few examples of ones that were in the South Hovses (some were destroyed during the renovations):

How can you possibly call Caltech "Ugly"? I visited and thought it was the nicest campus I had ever seen. Or maybe I just like palm trees, views of mountains and spectacular gardens more than most people. The buildings were not spectacular, but cheerful and low-key. I suppose there is a fine line between murals and graffiti, but I thought they added to the place rather than subtracting.

wiping out tears thanks, people!.. Now it will hurt even more if Caltech doesn't get to Waiting List this year....
I so don't want to go to cold and faceless NYU (lol)(seriously)
