an important realization

among the many 2250 SATs and countless hours of volunteer work, leadership services, and other exemplar traits that make each applicant a good candidate, i hope everyone here- especially those who aim for greatness- will one day, see a much greater world- beyond themselves, and strive to make a real positive impact in the world.. i hope it's not all in vain and the success each applicant gains- now and in the future- i hope it leads them into becoming better people..

just a thought...

Hear, hear!

now thats the truth. the same kind of thought crossed my mind while writing some of these essays. someone should put this thread on the front page of cc!

Well it definitely isn't in vain. Although I wouldn't be too sure about teh better people part.

It is kind of reassuring to know so many smart people are out there, who can help make the world a better place. Who's to say you'll make a bigger impact in the world with an Ivy education versues a state one?

amen to that!
I can only hope that when we receive top-notch educations in college and/or grad school, we do something with that knowledge. And as cheesy as it sounds, trying to make the world a better place for our children and the future should be part of everyone's goals in one way or another.

Yeah. There's no point in getting a Harvard education if you're just going to sit in your dad's cushy law office, or spend your days just goofing off.

sigh ultimately, most of these people will become money minting machines.

Jesus was a carpenter.

LOL nice one dude.
