You are in luck Chandler, I will be there on Friday as well. Perhaps I will provide you with a sneak preview of my classic jokes.

Hey all! I’m a junior considering Cornell + Williams and this thread is really informative =).

I’ll be visiting Cornell for the first time on… this coming Thursday and am so excited!

Hey mcvc, go to whichever college I end up choosing!!
Both colleges are pwnzorz (yes, pwnzorz, deal with it :P) so the decision is frankly impossible.

Good luck, my visit to Cornell (especially the 2nd time, when I went to a HumEc session) was fantastic, have fun!

chronicfuture: Are you staying overnight?

Williams for sure. Not only will you get more resources and a more individual attention as a student, but also you can benefit from the Williams alumni network. Overall it’s a no-brainer. Williams is easily perceived by the others to surpass Cornell. Also, the Williams campus is WAY more gorgeous!

Well then, I suppose we should always make our decisions by what others think, shouldn’t we muerte?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But we definitely know that Ithaca is WAY more gorges.

Well then, I suppose we should always make our decisions by what others think, shouldn’t we muerte?

Excellent point. For me, the difference is so-called prestige is so minute that it’s become a nonfactor in my decision.

Both campuses are beautiful, but I’ll have to see which one feels more like home when I visit in a week.

But for now I’m off to a fancy-schmancy restaurant to celebrate Williams/Cornell! It’s belated, but still just as good (i’ll try not to feel your jealousy while I eat succulent medallions of filet mignon with a side of whipped potatoes ;))

Don’t forget the Gas-X, my dear. Damn dem whipped 'taters!

I’d appreciate if you didn’t use such snide/slightly disturbing affectations with me.
Thanks.
Sir.

And the whipped " 'taters" were exquisite.

The difference between these colleges is simple-- at Williams, people don’t kill themselves.

In all seriousness, I would take the praises sung in this thread with a grain of salt… (I mean it’s the Cornell Forum, of course it’s biased…)

Oh, and we would have made you a thread, but Williams doesn’t have Cornell’s 20,000 people to support it.

Cornell’s suicide rate is below the national average.

Enjoy your college that has less students than my high school had. That would get boring really fast.

Let’s keep this thread civil.

Pawn_H7 can educate himself about Cornell’s suicide rate in the stickie.

chandler might do better there…

never thought i’d see the day that students would feel compelled to defend the suicide rate of their school…'tis very saddening =(

There’s nothing to defend, muerte. Only incorrect facts to dispel.

Oh, dear.
This started as such a nice, positive thread.
What happened?

Some kids from Penn and Williams started to exhibit a decided lack of class.

“The difference between these colleges is simple-- at Williams, people don’t kill themselves”

no comment even needed

"never thought i’d see the day that students would feel compelled to defend the suicide rate of their school…'tis very saddening "

muerte- you can feel sadness?!? weird…

Whoa, this thread just got nasty…

Why is a Penn kid notorious for dishing out extremely hotheaded opinions on a thread that is “Cornell v. Williams”?

And both C and W are fantastic schools, people don’t need to bash either.
I mean, the difference between schools like Penn, Cornell, and Williams is NOT academic. Whichever one you go to, you can rest assured that you’ll have an amazing undergraduate education. (Though the fact that I was waitlisted by Penn makes my decision between the three a bit easier ;))

Now watch you get into Penn off the waitlist Chandler. =)

If I ever see a Location: NY –> Williams '13 or Cornell '13 or Penn '13! I am standing waaaay back.
