which do you guys think is better anacapa or Santa Cruz as a freshman? pros/cons for each please!

Posted this under another question about dorms

I live in Anacapa right now and i like it. You still meet a lot of people either way, mainly because a lot of the rooms are triples, so there’s a lot more people than you would think. It’s super close to the beach, so you have the possibility of having an ocean view room. It’s within walking distance of the UCEN, if you ever get tired of dining common food, or if you need some scantrons at the last minute before a test. and at that, it’s close enough to your classes that you don’t have to worry about being late if you leave your room last minute (great for any 8am classes you might end up with)

They’re basically the same. Anacapa is a little nicer inside in my opinion, but they’re about the same distance from the center of campus, and they’re right next to each other. I think Anacapa may have more triples.

Is each floor in Anacapa co-ed or separated by genders?

Each wing is single-gender.

Anacapa and Santa Cruz are a little more separated as far as gender than Santa Rosa. In Anacapa and Santa Cruz, each L is either all girls or all guys, and each L has their own small lounge. In Santa Rosa, each straight part is either all girls or all guys, but the adjoining wing is the opposite, and they share a lounge.
