anatomy and physiology vs AP Physics for medical career?

Which has more benefits? I am going to do pre-med as an undergraduate (probably in biology).

I can either one - which would be better for college, medical school, AND the career overall?

Note: I have basic anatomy skills, I have been doing sports medicine as a class for 2 years.

if you are in high school, I heard anatomy and physiology is pointless and useless. I would take AP Physics instead to get yourself the awesome physics background so that you can do well in college physics (ie. boost you science GPA).

People have said that anatomy and physiology in high school will definitely not help you out.

If you are looking for interest, do A&P, if you are looking for something that will make your undergrad GPA a little easier, do AP physics and drop the AP credit (retaking the general physics in college). In the long run, neither will likely make a difference. I don’t feel better equiped now for having taken AP Chem 5 years ago, but who knows?

I heard Anatomy and Physiology is a pretty intense class (wel at least at my school) that does a mighty fine job of preparing you for college.
If you have room you might want to take both, if not then go with the one you feel is best.
Also think about what you might want to do? Some radiology specialist that administer raditation treatments to cancer paitents are actually physicists. My Physics teacher said Physics is great if you are planning on going into Kinesiology related field.
Biomecanics and kinesiology are really just complex physics.
Anatomy and Physiology provides great oppurtunities too, I’d say it focuses more on the organic chemistry side and biology, while AP Physics would help you more with understanding Biomecanics as I said above.
AP Biology is another option you might want to take if you haven’t already.

Good luck, and remember follow your heart! :)

I took AP Bio and both AP Physics C classes. They did not complement at all. So different. For bio i walk in and memorize memorize memorize the whole day, and the only math we see is if graphs go up or down, lol. Then I go to physics and they tell you to integrate and differentiate everything you see in the room.

^ I admire your selection of courses :)

If your anatomy & physiology class is a joke, then you simply have to take things into your own hands and ensure that you teach yourself the material. Are both together not possible? An AP Physics C course (it is C, not B, right?) certainly would be beneficial as a student, in terms of prep as well as exploration. If I had an anatomy & physiology class at my HS when attended, I certainly would have enrolled, no doubt about it. If it was a joke teacher/class, I would have self-studied and made sure I got something out of the class. To help you with your decision you should locate the textbook that the A&P course utilizes to see if it is good or not - if it’s not, I would lean towards AP Physics C if you only have one choice.
