I'm taking AP classes instead of the regular anatomy class offered at my high school. Is the latter a better choice?

Personally I enjoyed anatomy so I’d say to take that, but hey, if you’re already interested in the AP class why not to get the extra weight on your GPA? I mean, there’s pros and cons to each so really it’s your decision.

Agreed.

D1 enjoyed her HS anatomy class–which was taught on a college and included a week-long observation at the local med school’s human cadaver lab. But most schools don’t teach anatomy at this level. HS anatomy in no way helped her with college A&P, nor did college A&P help her with medical school anatomy.

D2 opted to take AP classes. Both are med students.

So take whichever course appeals to you the most and which offers you the best opportunities.

Definitely take the AP class, I’m not sure about your school, but anatomy at my high school sucks

without knowing anything about your high school or how the anatomy class is taught I would guess the AP class would look better for college. Neither will matter for med school.
