And the competition begins

let me break the ice...

1420/690/690/670/ucgpa4.6/uw4.0

Enough ECs to fill the spots...

1520/800/720/710/3.96/top 8%

in the state foo

Here, I'll enter my stats out of my generosity, in order to comfort all of you truly stellar students.

1220/710/690/(?)/28 on ACT/3.27 WEIGHTED gpa/5/5

Joined 2 clubs, won a Japanese contest, got 4th in another. CS:about 5 hrs judging a science fair.

Yay for people who had no idea!

Ugh, wish I studied for Sats.
31 ACT (33 Act with all sit-ins)/750/730/680/4.34 UC gpa
Surfer

1510/800/760/740/4.0uw/not really sure w, but not as impressive/top 2%
Exchange student in Japan for a year, several other Japan-related activities (I'm White, btw), ~500 hours of community service.
Out of state (that hurts :()

irock: nope, i don't know you, but i guessed since you go to a huge public school and live in berkeley. i live about 20 mins away from berk and know that your golf team kills ours. =P

berkeley only admitted 23.6% of its students last year. do u guys know what percent of those students are just bs, no chance ppl? The 3 ppl i know from my school that are applying honestly have no chance whatsoever.

oliver i dont think it matters what test u take. An ACT of 31 converts to an SAT composite of 1360-1400.

1470/780/770/610/4.76/Top 1%/Strong ECs.

OUT OF STATE.

1550/800/800/730/3.5/4.0/norank
National Merit Semi/Eagle Scout.. and others not worth mentioning
in state

blah.

Eagle Scout!!! Rock On!

1470/800/800/700/3.85 unweighted/ top 20 percent at college prep school

catch: oh wait there is none, nothing special and out of state, but before this thread i would have thought i was in for sure

yeah man. those dumb athletes really make the averages low. the real competition is this.

I've seen the UC Berkelely admit profiles for the past couple of years and there are degrees of apparent randomness that are difficult to explain. Out of state is !@#$%^&*! for anyone...it's not good enough to walk on water, you must be able to create the water first.

More than 40 kids from my D's hs went to Berkeley last year. But the profiles from CC the last couple of years of those who didn't get in is kinda gruesome.

hmm can you link it?

i chose undeclared just so i can get in. i can change my major later.

1420/730/730/720/uw4.0

1530/800/790/790 2/490 3.96uw AND I'm in-state.

I think I have a pretty good chance.

1500/800/800/790/780/770/620(writing,just retook~~)/no rank/ int'l

1490/800/770/700/Top 2%/ Alaskan

Sorry, Booboocat, I don't have a link. I don't even remember if I've read it
on-line or in hardcopy. TheMom works for UC and I see stuff in both formats.
