Andover short answer

What do you like most about yourself? Why?
okay it took me a while to even come to terms with what stood out for me, and hence what i was going to right about. I could right an essay on this question but the word limits 150. just wanted to know if anyone had any advice on what to say, and what to avoid saying on a question like this. how to structure it with so few words allowed; what to include and how detailed i should be? thanks!

Only you know yourself. Please don’t turn to the internet for editorial guidance. Among other reasons, I believe you must turn in your own work.

Remember to write several drafts, and check your spelling!

It’s interesting that colleges encourage applicants to have someone look over their essays and (very lightly) edit them while boarding schools, I believe, take a very consistent position that the writing materials must be entirely and exclusively the work product of the applicant.

That said, I think it’s fair to point out that the prescribed word limit is a good indicator of how much/little detail they’re seeking. And it’s generally a good choice to spend more words addressing the “why” aspect than the “what” aspect, because the answer to “why” is almost always interesting and revealing while the answer to “what” is about as thrilling and insightful as a shopping list.

Finally, the spelling tip should not bee limited two activating spell check on account of their being sum words that our misspelled that the software does not sea as errand, write?

Yes, i’m not asking the internet to give me suggestions on what to write about. as i said, i figured that out for myself. Just given the 150 i wanted to know if anyone else had any ideas. Thank you D’yer Maker!

When answering this question, think about how you want your application to stand out. What is your passion (or maybe 2 or 3 of them). All the essays, activities, and short answers should cement that image in the admissions committee mind. So, think about a “theme” that represents you (and will make you stand out) and use each answer to contribute to it.

Examples: musical person — note competitions and talk about why you enjoy your musical ability
