1) you apply for admission
2) you apply for Liberal Arts honors
3) you are accepted for admission
4) you are accepted for Liberal Arts Honors
5) they ask you to rank your preference in honors dorms (Andrews, Blanton or Carothers)

What would you rank them? Blanton best because it has laundry on every floor? Carothers best because it has the University Honors Office in the basement?

I think the odds of being able to live in any of these is small, right? They are not very big and a lot of people want to be in them?

i live in carothers, and the social scene kinda sucks. most of the action happens in blanton. however, blanton doesnt have any sinks which really sucks.

Blanton is ok but very old... it has public everything, not even a private sink... i wouldn't highly recommend it, it is very small and crowded.

Andrews I have not been in.

Cruther is better, so maybe

Cruthers
Blanton

Andrews is somewhere i just don't know where sorry, i don't know anyone there

Blanton is definitely the most social of the dorms and it is also the dorm with the highest percentage of freshman. Blanton does not, actually, have laundry on every floor, it just has a lot of machines in the basement. Andrews has machines on every floor, I don't know about Carothers. Blanton is also the only one without sinks.

You don't get to decide, however, so you are pretty much stuck with whatever happens.

I didn't really like the rooms in Blanton. The lack of sinks is actually a bigger deal than you would imagine. Having access to running water in the middle of the night if you're ever thirsty (or sick, or whatever) is huge.

I like Carothers the best, but honestly, I think Jester is a better dorm (WHAT??????!!!!!!!, I know) for freshmen, because it's way more social, it's still awesomely located (unless your in communications I guess), and a lot of the tutoring and stuff is right there. You can hang out in the honors dorm when you befriend the smart kids in your classes. Just make sure that if you're in Jester, you have a suite, or at least have your own sink (all my experiences in Jester have been in suites, but I know they have communal bathrooms and stuff too).
