Animal Science Majors

Animals Science/Biology majors at UC Davis: What were you stats when you applied? Also, is it considered a popular undergraduate major?

Current Aggie Mom here. Older son (not an Animal Science major) but in the School of Agriculture and Environmental Science. When he went to Freshman orientation, which is by College, there was an overwhelming majority of Animal Science/Animal Biology majors compared to the other majors in that college. Also, when you consider UCD is considered one of the top schools for Veterinary Medicine, it will be an extremely popular major. You should check the acceptance thread from last year and see what Stats other Animal Science majors posted. Although it won’t be completely accurate, it will give you an idea of what your chances may be.

Hi, I graduated from UC Davis as an Animal Science major. I was a transfer student, so my stats are different than that of freshmen, but I came in with a 3.12 GPA (this was the year before they raised the minimum transfer GPA to 3.2). It’s a popular undergraduate major, yes. At my graduation, the number of people in the Animal Science major far exceeded the number of people in all other majors in the College of Ag.
