Animal Science v. Zoology

I was accepted into both UC Davis and UCSB. I love both schools, but I’m not sure which one to choose.

I applied to UCDavis as a Animal Science major and was accepted. For UCSB, I applied for Zoology, but I was admitted as a pre-Biology major? Is this just a step before focusing on Zoology?

I want to be a veterinarian, and therefore was to apply for Vet school later on. Which major do you think is most beneficial for me? What is the difference between these two majors?

I think Animal Science is! Pre-biology is definitely a unique major but I see that categorized under general medicine, in my opinion. I would choose UC Davis, honestly but I wish you the best in your career and future!

You can major in anything as long as you take the required pre-req courses required to apply to Veterinary school. UCD may have more opportunities such as internships/volunteering etc… VS UCSB, but there is no guarantee that if you go to UCD you will have priority at their Vet school. I would pick the school where you think you can succeed academically/socially and financially.

It is a little dated but shows as a Pre-biology/Zoology major you can still fulfill Vet school requirements.
