Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows what the average in state non local applicant statistics are for Animal Health Science &/or Animal Science. I’d also appreciate it if anyone knows whether or not it’s easy to switch into these majors once admitted.
Animal Science is an impacted major, so below is the procedure to follow to switch into these majors.
Cal Poly Pomona does not list their applicant stats by major. They admit based on Eligibility index where you are ranked by major. They accept from the top down until all spots are filled. Local in-service area applicants get priority by are not guaranteed admission to impacted majors.
An Eligibility index of 3800+ SAT and 900+ ACT could make you a competitive applicant.
EI= (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math+EBRW) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10)
Here is a link for the Change of Major requirements for all majors: https://www.cpp.edu/~academic-programs/Documents/College_Requirements_for_Change_of_Major_2017-20182.pdf
First-time Freshmen Averages and not Major specific:
High School CSU GPA: 3.45
SAT Composite Score: 1,036
Animal Science acceptance rate 2017: 39%
Animal Health Science acceptance rate 2017: 45%
You can see application counts by major here:
@grgscrjr: I think OP wants to know the average CSU GPA and test scores for admitted applicants by major which is not available. I did not give the link you posted, but I did give the acceptance rates posted on the link for the majors of interest.
Ok, thanks for the clarification.
