I want to do the pre- vet major

I mean the animal science/ animal health science major

You need to calculate your CSU GPA which uses 10-11th grades for a-g courses only. You only get extra honors points for AP/IB or DE courses than 10-11th grade and it is capped at 8 semesters.

A-G courses need to qualify for admission:

https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/getting_into_the_csu/pages/admission-requirements.aspx

After you calculate your capped weighted CSU GPA then calculate your Eligibility index:

EI= (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x 10) or (CSU GPA x 800) + (SAT Math + CR).

Animal Science is an impacted major, so there are more applicant than spots so you want to be a top applicant.

EI targets are 3900+ SAT or 900+ ACT at least.

Since you are OOS, make sure CPP is affordable since you will receive no financial aid and the cost of attendance is around $39K/year.

Are the EI targets you gave a minimum for the impacted major or a minimum for non-impacted and you would need considerably higher for impacted?

The EI targets are just that targets across the board, since CPP and almost all the Cal States except for San Jose State do not publish their EI cutoffs by majors. Around a 3900+ should be considered the average to be competitive for an impacted major, but EI cutoffs will fluctuate from year to year depending upon the stats of each in-coming Freshman class.

Wonderful! Thank you!!
