Ann Arbor Admission

University of Michigan ANN ARBOR

ok...soo...I am really...really....freakin out...I am going to apply to ann arbor ...i just graduated 11th grade...soo I wanted to ask a few questions and advices...whats the biggest chance for me to get in? if i apply early action early , early decision, or just normal?

something about me

im and international student in europe taking IB

I have a 1620 on my sat...yea i know its low

760 on sat math level II
710 on sat spanish
111 on the toefl internet based out of 120
5 AP italian
4 Ap microeconomics
how do i stack up?

How did you get a 760 on SAT Math II but only pull a 1620? Quite poor reading scores? Annnnndddddd with your scores I'd say far reach.

also...if i do not ask for financial aid...and pay everything without a problem..would that increase my chances of getting in?

Michigan does not have EA or ED, only Early Response. Your SAT is low (about 400 points below the mean). What's your unweighed GPA like?

International students don't get any financial aid anyway.

Also, Michigan has rolling admissions, so the earlier you apply, the better (there is no early action/decision)

It's a very far reach.

I think its funny that you call it "Ann Arbor" as if it's a UC school (Berkeley).

I strongly recommend that you re-take SAT I.

It is a reach, and it's your choice to apply for financial aid, so I don't think denying financial aid can help your admission. try ACTs, if it's available in europe.

There is University of Michigan Dearborn and University of Michigan Flint - so adding the Ann Arbor isn't that strange!!

don't freak out too much. My Sat scores were too really bad at the end of 11th grade. but then just keep trying and working, and eventually my sat score went up above 2100.
SATs aren't everything, so if it really doesn't go up, try to flash this uni with something unique about yourself.

Is English not your native language/not a language you really studied in school? That might explain the good math and language scores, but the bad SAT score.

Well, then again, 111/120 on toefl...

i am italian

Man, honestly, with that SAT score I wouldn't waste the $40 and hours of writing the essays. If it were any lower, I would have thought you left out the writing score, haha. Look at the bright side though, you're still above average.
