Does anybody know when the schools listed below are supposed to start mailing out decisions? Assuming everything was sent in by the deadlines of course.....

Boston College
University of Southern California
Smith College

any information will help....

I have no idea about BC, I think you have to accept by early June so I'm assuming mid-late May because of the late deadlines for people to send in msising info

My roomate heard from Smith about two weeks ago.

Anyone heard from Bryn Mawr? Or know when the announcement dates are?

check collegeboard under apps...they usually have the notification dates for each school up.

oops sorry i meant deadlines. anyway, bmc notifies by june 1.

Thanks for replying, it's interesting that they say june because I heard from some people who transferred a couple years ago that they heard as early as mid april but I guess either things have changed or they were just lucky.

Do they just send letters? Or do they also email?

i know a couple people who applied for transfer this year, along with the people on this board haha, and it seems like schools dont always follow the date that they say they'll notify by. amherst is supposed to notify by june 1 as well and someone posted a yesterday about how he already got his letter.

im not sure how bryn mawr notifies transfers. i know for regular decision it was a letter and a phone call. im guessing they'll do it by letter rather than email...theyre not that computer savvy :)

How much time do colleges usually give you to make a decision? Are you allowed to accept admission for more than one college and then withdraw later if you need more time to make a decision?

Yes...as far as I know you can send in a deposit to another school because that only holds your spot... a deposit is not necessarily a binding decision...the only drawback about doing that is that you end up losing your deposit if you decide to enroll somewhere else...many students have to do this because while some schools notify you in mid-April, others don't tell you until june (after the candidate reply deadlines)...sending a deposit to another school is a good idea...or you could try calling the other schools to get a later deadline (although that could seem awkward)...
