Any day now… the odds are stacked against me, and I know I probably did not get accepted, but the tension is killing me !!
I’m a bit anxious to know the results. Do they call the finalists and email everyone else?
@greentea71 I thought they emailed everybody, regardless of acceptance or denial. Where did you hear about the calls? O:
Has anyone tried to email them on when they will send the results?
I heard about the calls from another forum from a few years ago. I thought they called finalists and asked if they could go to New York for the leadership week. If not, then they went down the list and called other people. I might be wrong though.
I don’t know about y’all, but I keep checking Twitter/my email obsessively! I know I probably didn’t get accepted, but I just want to have closure already (and I’m excited to hopefully hear about the many acceptances of people on this forum!). Maybe we’ll hear tomorrow since it’s the last weekday in April?
Maybe. Can someone post a template for stats in case we do hear tomorrow? Good luck everyone!
@greentea71 From what I’ve gathered, I believe HERlead will email all of us – whether that be an acceptance or rejection – and call the accepted girls to confirm for the New York City trip, so that the girls off of the waitlist can get accepted if the initially accepted girls can’t go. Let me try to find a template for stats, haha. @pinkfreud1 We are in the same boat! I am super excited but also anxious to find out the results. I am hoping that we hear back tomorrow too.
I adapted this from one of the college results thread and took out some parts to make it applicable to the HERlead application. Please be sure to delete the spaces in all of the [brackets] to get the formatting correct, for example: [_b] has a space before it!

God speed @absolutevalue , thank you so much for looking this up but I kinda don’t know what it means. Is this how the judges grade candidates?
@absolutevalue Thank you so much for this!
@Fiepre I got the template from another College Confidential user on a college results thread, so I don’t think what I posted was how students are officially graded by admissions officers. The template was probably just written by a high school student like you or me. Moreover, I definitely don’t think there is an absolute formula/template that determines whether a person is accepted or denied, whether that be to a college or to a program like HERlead. With that being said, I think the template just tries to encompass some of the things that would be on a college application, for example: a student’s GPA, extracurriculars, essays (or else how the student felt about the quality of their essay). It’s not official, but it more or less tries to represent the things that a “judge” could look out for! @pinkfreud1 No problem, I’m glad to help!
Has anyone heard anything yet?
@absolutevalue No, not yet! I’ve been checking my email about every two minutes haha
Nothing from the Midwest, but everyone seems to be speculating it’s tomorrow…
@yayhamlet Oh really? I thought that the Vital Voices office wasn’t open on weekends. Additionally, who’s “everyone”? Haha, is there an additional thread that I can join? @pinkfreud1 Same here!
If they do announce the results tomorrow cross your fingers and pray
@absolutevalue Lol by “everyone” I meant the people on here. I haven’t found another thread for this. Just the recent speculation made it seem like today was the day. Probably wrong, just getting antsy for the results
Has anyone contacted Vital Voices yet?
@waitingforchange I just sent them an email asking when they are sending out results. I will let you guys know if I hear anything
