<p>We have come to expect an increase each year. </p>
<p>As a sidebar, I found it encouraging to read Barron’s points on affordability in his address to the BoT. While I haven’t had time to review his presentation in-depth, it is at least refreshing that he speaks to prioritizing the issue of graduating on time. </p>

<p>Before judging the appropriateness of the increase in any college’s tuition, google average increases in insurance premiums and increase in utilities. At 3%, any college is actually losing ground. Have your non-college expenses increased less than that?
Not directly relevant here, but anyone who complains about modest increases should consider how much their cable bill has increased over the last 5 years.
Not taking you on pilot, but all those bitching over increases in tuition usually fail to account for the pressures universities are under.</p>
