Another AFA CHANCES!

Yeah Josh I agree with that..my parents especially my mom tells me I should just take regular classes if I slip on grades a bit.

I know better.

Besides, I believe I have read that college recruiters take a look at all the classes you are taken..and they do realize that if you have a 4.0 and are taking regular classes..you're not to impressive.

Ain't that the truth

From talking to counselors and college admissions officers I know that its better to have a B in a AP class then a regular A. Does your school not weight the AP/Honor classes? Also by the time your a senior im sure alot of those slacker kids wont be able to keep their high GPA, so dont worry about it. Just keep working hard.

I need to improve my work ethics right now guys. Any advice for me?

Just get it done?

My school weighs it; 1.1 x an A. So an A is 4.4, an A- is 4.1. After this semester my GPA will go up to a 3.922 and hopefully a 3.933. How does your school do it?

Only final semester grades count. A quarter or however your system works doesn't matter, ONLY the semester final grades.

USAFA takes into consideration if your school doesn't weight AP classes more heavily than normal.

Yall are killin' yourselves. I'll say what I've said many times before, yes its tough to get in, but not "I need the grades Stephen Hawking's genius, the athleticism of Michael Jordan, and the leadership of FDR." They want to see if you have the potential to be a great officer in the military, and while grades, tests, etc. are such a huge part, being well rounded and showing you are willing to work hard helps a lot.

I don't mean to be rude, but its the truth guys. I have had 6 months with everyone here and have been experiencing what they are about. Have faith in yourselves. I know you will worry, and I did too, but go out have have fun while ya can!

My school takes semester and final semester grades; these go on the transcript. Which ones count? Both I'm guessing.

Both. (10 characters.....)

Semi-Finals next week.

I hate the way my school is set up.

Well, I will be busy then. Wish meh the strength to study hard and succeed everyone. :D

Definitely don't skip out on your AP classes for fear of getting a B. The Academy will look at your transcript, and if you took underwater basket weaving as opposed to AP Calc 2, then they will notice. It's not just GPA that they take into account. But I know it's annoying when kids who don't challenge themselves are ranked higher than you. My two co-valedictorians don't even take advanced classes for fear of losing the precious 4.0. grrr... Good luck on finals everyone! :)

I plan to take AP classes.

For sophomores at my high school they don't have them yet..so I just loaded up on as many honors and scholarship courses
I could. Only thing I didn't do was take Honors English..instead I took Scholarship English..I don't really like English.
