Please forgive my ignorance but do the males(midshipman/cadets) give their date flowers for the All-Academies Ball?
If so...corsage or presentation bouquet?

This came up on the CG listserv. Yes flowers are appropriate...wristlets very common according to one poster.

Arrrggg. Are you telling me that not only do I have to cough up for that new "fat" dress for me but now I gotta put funds in the Jamz "Mom, I'm broke again" account for flowers?! Well nuts....

It was hit or miss when I went to these. Some of the girls had them, others didn't. It's definately not like some of the high school dances where every girl has one.

Most dates do NOT have flowers, although some do. What you may also need to know is that the midshipman/cadets do NOT wear boutonniers (you know, the flower on the chest that they get from dates in high school). They are not permitted to wear them on a uniform, so make sure dates know this ahead of time. I mention this because we had to find out the first year since my son's date wanted to give him one, luckily my sister's husband was career military so we were able to get an answer.

Thanks KPmom2001 & KPmom2006...

Good...our ball is 12/26 and I really don't think many florists will be open... that Monday (where I live) none of the hair salons are open.

Jamz Mom has volunteered to do all the gurlz hair and provide fresh flowers from her garden on her 1,000 acre aunty-bellum mansion in SC.

Huge grins. Those 22 rooms are a witch to keep clean! Darn people always coming and going....HA! Alas, all thats left are the camillias. Maybe Rhett can go to the back forty and gather a few.

Jamzmom: "I can't think about this now. I'll go crazy if I do. I'll think about it tomorrow."

LFWB quotes from GWTW...ya gotta love it...only on CC.

I can't believe I missed this! Now ya'll are getting it!!
