another annoying "what are my chances"?

I'm applying RD and here are my stats:
SAT: 690 math, 760 verbal
SAT IIs: 750 math IC, 680 US history, 660 Writing (retaking in Jan, but i dunno if the scores will get there in time)
PSAT (if it counts at all): 690 math, 660 verbal, 780 writing skills

I'm really into basketball--4 year varsity player, MVP, all conference etc
I'm president of my Venture Crew troop (co-ed boy scout group)
I did varsity track sophomore year, varsity cross country freshman year
Volunteer work: volunteered at an inner city day care center, was part of Community Problem solving (we translated books into Farsi and sent them to afghan children)
other clubs: animal rights club, math team
This year i'm a tutor in the schools Writing Center and sophomore year I was in the French Honor Society.

: / do i have an ok chance?
And oh yeah, my essays are not going to be amazing i'm sure. I mean, they're ok...at the very worst maybe they'll hurt me a tiny bit

hmmm... your stats are very impressive, they could get you in, but i think nu is pretty big on essays. did you already send in your app? well, if you did, i wouldn't worry about it too much because you have a lot of ec's and good test scores... what's your gpa?

i think NU said they don't take january test scores?

either way i have no idea if u'll get in or not, since it's a crapshoot for everyone. essays ARE important tho.

oh yeah, my gpa is 5.67 (weighted out of 5) I'm 27th in my class out of 400 something which puts me in the top 6% or so

yeah NU definitely doesn't take january scores. i emailed them personally about it and they said they only took december at latest.
