Thanks!

One thing to consider...I got a D in Ap chemistry will that screw any chance of getting in? I got a 720 on the Chemistry subject test though..

Would I have a good chance with regular decision or should I apply early decision?

Don't be to harsh

I'm looking at Boston College, Wake Forest, and Carnegie Mellon seriously, what are my chances for these?

Hi, StevenL. I usually don’t like to comment on “chance” threads, but since there have been so many views without comments, you might start to wonder why! You sound like an interesting student (your ECs are varied, but somehow go together to me), I would really try and demonstrate that you are a strong student by having a stellar senior year. Only apply early if you are not concerned about financial aid comparisons. Also, I would explain the circumstances of that “D,” especially since you did well on the subject test and your ECs demonstrate an interest in science. Remember, Wake is a small school and gives individual attention to each application, so if you have an explanation, by all means explain. Best of luck to you!

Thanks njmom… I will definitely work my butt off senior year in an attempt to make up for the mediocre year I had. Hopefully that D won’t ruin my future ~_~

I would not call your year mediocre, and if you you can at least explain what happened (even if the truth is you slacked, but learned from it :)), I think you might be fine. Keep us posted!

I think you have a decent chance. Everything else seems good except the “D” in AP Chem and your UW GPA seems a little bit low. I think Wake is a high match for you. Good luck :)
