Some of you might remember me from previous threads, however, I found the four schools I want to apply to and I would like your two cents.
I go to Nichols College, a small business school in central Massachusetts. I have only been at Nichols for one semester and I already know it is way too easy. I received a 3.68 GPA this past semester without studying much at all. I'm very bored there. An estimates 3/4 of the on-campus residents leave for the weekend. I should have two fantastic recommendations, one from my English professor and the other from the Business professor. I'm involved in four or five clubs too (marketing, management, accounting, psychology, and maybe stock). I'm currently a finance major but if I need to I could switch that to economics or general business. For the past two years I have worked at a local bank as a teller and I'm most-like going to go back with them during the summer. One problem- my test scores are abominable. For whatever reason I just do not test well. I really like Northeastern University (if I do not have to repeat a year due to my credits possibly not transferring), Elon University, Loyola College in Maryland and Wheaton College (legacy).

What are your thoughts on my chances at those schools? If there are any other schools you would recommend, please tell me.

also, which would you recommend i take for next semester: statistics I or calculus I? i'm currently enrolled in a stats class but i'm not sure which is more imperative.

Good chance at all of them. SAT scores dont count that much for transfers.

If applying after two years of college, SAT scores do not count that much

They do count quite a bit owever if you only have one semester under your belt.

i know wheaton does not require sat/act at all and neu doesnt require it if i exceed 24 credits by the time i transfers, which i will have.

I literally just got a letter from my college saying that I made Dean's List with High Honors. How much should that help me with transferring into the schools I named or is it irrelevant?

you should definately write that on the application.

how good of a chance would you say specifically- approximately 50-75% for chance for each?

I don't mean to be rude but if your cause for transferring is academic frustration, shouldn't your gpa reflect that?

is a 3.68 gpa not good enough or something? the academics at nichols are not the only reason i desire to transfer. however, i would like to be pushed more. nichols is such a rural school and there is nothing to do there. everybody leaves for the weekend. A lot of colleges only ask for a 3.0 and I beat that by .68. so, why is that not reflecting my frustration as you said?

I think what niddumas is saying is that if your complaint is the academics aren't challenging enough, you should be flying through with a 4.0. If you're not getting straight A's, then obviously you are meeting some challenges at your current school.

It is official, I'm applied to Northeastern and Elon. I decided not to apply to Wheaton or Loyola. Would you say I get into both, one, neither...?
