Hey everyone!

I know these friends come up on CC all too often, but my dream school is UNC Chapel Hill. I know it is a reach for me, you don't have to tell me that much. However, I was wondering if there's any realistic hope that I may get in. Here's more about me as a student - academics, extracurriculars and leadership.

Status: Rising Senior (Fall 2010)
State: Maryland
High school: Prestigious all girls Catholic high school;
Caucasian, only one parent graduated college; My dad went to UNC Chapel Hill on an athletic scholarship but when he was hurt he dropped out. He always told me how much he loved it, so I got really interested. Not only do I love everything about UNC (my room is painted Carolina blue and we have a Tar Heel flag hanging from my garage), I'd love to "finish up" for my dad.

GPA: 3.66 in sophomore year (I'm pretty sure it'll go up to 3.7something because I've had really good grades in junior year; )
SAT SCORES (only taken them once; taking them again in a few days; )
CR: 630
M: 560
W: 650
(Combined CR+W=1190, all three=1840)

EXTRACURRICULARS:

CLASSES TAKEN (Will take for senior year - 9 honors, 1 AP; all other classes are "College Prep" level):
Freshman Year: Algebra I (honors), Religion, World Cultures, Biology, French II, English, Health, Chorus;
Sophomore Year: Geometry (honors), Religion, US History I, Chemistry, French III (honors), English, Chorus;
Junior Year: Algebra II (honors), Religion, US History II, Environmental Science (honors), French IV (honors), English, Chorale;
Senior Year: Precalculus (honors), Religion, Economics (AP), Forensic Science (honors), Creative Writing (honors), Chorale, Community Service Seminar;

I want to get into some sort of journalism/communications/media. Hence the low math score.. If accepted, I also plan on being in the Chorus/vocal ensembles at UNC as well as on stage for theatre.

Hopefully I will raise that SAT score. But, what do you think? Do I have any chances? My teachers describe me as diligent, always prepared, very organized, a "firecracker" (in reference to how ecstatic I was about the Peace Love Africa campaign), etc. I think I'll have good recommendation letters and what not. But do I stand a chance?

If you have any advice for admissions, I would love to hear it, whether it be a positive outlook or constructive criticism/advice.

Thanks again!
