Another rate my schedule thread <-----> 18 units in one semester?

Schedule looks like:
Chem 112A
Bio 1B
Persian 11A

and then I might take MCB 62 (Drugs & the Brain)

I don't know whether to take 15 or 18 units yet, I want to be involved in extracurricular activities. I'm going to also going to be working and hopefully doing research next semester too. What do you guys suggest? Taking MCB62 would probably only help my GPA.

It looks doable, but are you a chem major? Since normally 112A is taken with physics 7B in the fall semester of the chem major’s sophomore year.

OP could be an intended MCB major in the subarea of biochemistry and molecular biology, which specifies Chemistry 112A and 112B.

The College of Chemistry majors requiring these courses do require Physics 7A and 7B, and Math 1A, 1B, 53, and 54.

I’m doing chemical biology but deviating off the normal path. Physics 8A + 8B can be used as a sub for 7A + 7B for chem bio majors and i’m opting to do those in the span of this summer and the next.

Please be aware that although its perfectly possible to do the 8A and 8B series for Chemical Biology, it it advised not to because you still have to take Chem 120A and 120B which require proficient use of linear algebra and using integrals in physics-type problems. Just saying, from what I heard from my GF who is doing Chemical Biology is that you use lots of techniques you do in the 7 series in the Chem 120 series.
