<p>So I'm guessing that lots of you are trying to choose between some of the top liberal arts colleges. You may be confused by those telling you that they are all basically the same so you can't go wrong, or that they are all completely different and noone who would be happy at Amherst, for instance, should even consider swat. </p>
<p>I'm here to say that everyone is wrong. First, the colleges do have notably different atmospheres. It is true that for some people, one college is clearly better than another - for instance, if being near a big city is important for you, or being on the west coast, or being near decent ski slopes. For others, the feel is different enough that the choice is clear. But the MAJORITY of students at these colleges are VERY similar (I think in a good way - smart, very curious, passionate about something...), and so the majority of students could be very happy anywhere. Anyways, here is an easy way to see that on the whole students are similar, or at least present themselves similarly to the world - take a look:
