Alright so I'm a freshman soon to be sophomore and the colleges that I'm looking into are Columbia, stanford, georgetown, ucla, uc berkeley, nyu, etc. I need to know if (extracurriculars excluded) my freshman year grades/classes will deter my chances of admission. The following are my final grades for this year:
English Honors - A+
World studies CP - A+ (I didn't take honors because my guidance counselor in 8th grade wouldn't let me take more than 2 honors classes freshman year)
Spanish 2 CP - A+ (no honors available for Spanish 2 at my school)
Geometry CP - A+
Physics Honors - B+

Next year my schedule is:
English 10 H
AP US history 1
AP Art History
Algebra 2/Trig H
Spanish 3 H
Chemistry H

junior year:
AP Lang
AP US history 2
AP Psych
AP Govt/Pol
Pre-calc AB H
Spanish 4 H

Senior year:
AP Lit
AP Spanish
AP bio or environmental
AP Euro
AP Calc AB
possibly AP macroeconomics

Assuming I get mostly A's for the rest of high school, and I have GREAT extracurriculars (which I do), do you guys think that I will have a good chance of admission to some of these schools?

UCLA: Aim for 2100+/31+

NYU: Aim for 2100+/31+
Georgetown: Reach
Stanford: Reach
Columbia: Reach

For your reaches, aim for 2200+/33+…

Many schools do not even count freshman grades.

It is very difficult to tell so soon, considering most colleges don’t look at Freshmen year. But you are definitely on the right track!

My advice to you is stay focused, obtain leadership positions in all your clubs, don’t neglect community service, and stay humble.

Study hard and Prosper!

And you can make Rutgers SAS/SEBS your absolute safety if you score 24+/1700+…
