Do I have any chance of getting in?

Hi, I'm new here so I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Going into 9th grade this year and Princeton is my dream school. Here are the classes I'm taking:

Algebra 2 CP
Gym
Band CP
Biology Honors
World History/Cultures Honors
English 1 Honors
Spanish 1
Financial and Career Planning
Ceramics 1

I'm expecting to be a straight A student, but I'm wondering if taking Alg. 2 CP and not honors will hurt my Ivy chances later on, and if taking Spanish 1 and not Spanish 2 will later hurt my chances. I'll likely take four years of Spanish and two years of Latin, if that makes any difference, and if I do well in regular Alg. 2 this year, I'll probably take honors pre-calc next year if possible.

All answers are appreciated!

Honestly, it’s way too early to chance you for Princeton. Come back when you have received some of those "A"s and taken the SAT/ACT. Until then, don’t worry so much about Princeton. You still have your entire high school career to focus on. Take the college application process as it comes.

I know, you have a point, but I’d just like an opinion if possible from somebody who did get in, on what they took freshman year of HS. It’s nice to know what I’m setting goals for, you know?

Yeah, I understand. It’s good to think about your future. Just make sure you don’t dwell on it too much. I know of people who have spent their entire time in high school obsessing over where they will go to college and it has had a negative effect. Just work hard in high school and get involved in some strong extracurriculars. If you can do that, you should stand a good case for Princeton. Good luck!

Yes, forgot to mention that I do have strong EC’s already and will have more during High School, and I’m taking the SAT in about a week. Thank you appreciate the feedback!

It’s way too early to chance things but its too late to find out certain things a year or two from now.

You do you need to challenge yourself academically which means taking the hardest courses you can take. So, what is better? An A in a CP level course or a B in a honors or AP level course?

I say stretch yourself but doing that will increase your workload. You have to want to do that.

And don’t set your heart on a single school that will probably only admit 3-6% of applicants by the time you apply. The odds will be, no matter how well you do, 95% chance you don’t get accepted. Shoot for it but create a portfolio of schools that you are excited to attend. A safe bet, a few reaches then your dream schools.

Princeton does not look at freshman classes. Keep that in mind.
