I really screwed up freshmen year. Chances at any college?

So basically, I did AWFUL in Spanish 2 in my freshmen year (as in I ended up with a 77 final grade or something to that extent).
Except I do fine in all my other classes. I took all honors throughout high school, and now as a junior, I'm taking APUSH and AP Chem.
I have a 3.68 UW this semester but I'm confident that I can pull it to a 3.76 UW (3.90 W) for the next three semesters. But that's only this year. How much will my terrible freshmen year Spanish grade affect me/my overall GPA?

Also, I know a lot of students at my school take chorus, band, and Latin as easy 100s/99s to boost their GPA, but I could never fit those classes into my schedule due to scheduling conflicts. Therefore, their grades are tremendously inflated, if that's the correct term, and I'm scared that when it comes to ranking in senior year, my GPA could never measure up to theirs because, while we take the same challenging classes, they have these extra boosts that over the course of 4 years would have a significant effect on their GPA. If I were to apply to the same college as someone of this mold, would colleges know/care about these grade cushion classes?

You’ll probably be fine, what did your final GPA end up being for the 9th grade?
If you’re applying to any of the UCs, they don’t even count freshmen year so that could be good news :)

I got a 70something in Algebra 1 my freshmen year and I still have a pretty competitive app, in my opinion. Not ivy-league competitive, but still pretty up there.
