If I could make it up to New York, I'd be counter-protesting in a heartbeat.

"Seriously, does Cornell actually have to allow this? "

I might not believe in the message of the group, but I also say that if Cornell didn't allow this that it would be pretty hypocritical of cornell itself (for cornell and other like colleges always speak about freedom of expression, and the such).

Personally, while I will be at cornell on August 2, (leaving campus on Aug 8) I don't think i'll waste my time going to the protest. and, I feel that counter-protesting would only succeed in brining this group more attention than it might normally receive for such a distasteful stunt! that being said, if you feel like you have the urge to counter-protest then do it.

oh at first i was worried and thought a student group was staging this, but then i just saw it was Westboro. No need to freak out, they only thing im worried about is that they'll sully our ground, but the Lord will bless it again. lol yea if Cornell didn't allow it that wouldn't be good. Plus this could help in promoting out message of diversity :)

Wow...August 2nd?? They dont have the guts to protest during the school year. I wonder why.

exactly...if they want to protest i invite them to protest at least after classes start!!!

i do support their right to protest, but i support our right to protest back :)

hahahahahaha " Cornell University This is a seat of higher learning in America, an Ivy League no less, which is filled with perverts running things…” this just cracks me up lol what the heck is wrong with these ppl…WHYYYYY?! lol it's sooo terrible, that it’s actually funny...

if only they had their wonderful march a couple weeks later… I would have been SO excited to protest back… sigh lol

Religious Fanatics and Extremist Bible-thumpers... what do you expect from people like them? Rationality? Reason?

lol @jimgotkp that made me laugh

no one is rational these days

were u laughing at me or with me? :(

These people are pretty messed up inside.. I don't even really understand how a university's administration can "try to make fags and dykes out of all of their students."

Damn crazy loonies.

with you! that was supposed to be a friendly reply lol

Holy **** these people are morons.

i got an infraction :x

someone go throw a water bottle at them!

I heard through some Cornell people that this will no longer be on-campus. I certainly don't think it's hypocritical to not allow these people to protest on-campus. Can you just imagine the conversation?

"Well, I think we better let them protest, especially after their honest and non-biased observations of our students and staff."

what's crazy is, basically their entire "movement" if it can be called that is based on the translation of ONE single word...no joke

I read somewhere that it was moved off campus because COrnell is private property. Something on those lines.

...anyone know how it went?

yea it was moved. I went to a support LGBT rally instead which was held at the same time on ho plaza.

Apparantly the westboro church had only 4 poeple there, and it was off campus so who knows. I did want to see it though.

God I so wish they would come to Wesleyan. We'd rip them a new one.
