isnt wesleyan faith based?

lol.........hahahahahaa

it was founded as a methodist institution. while there are certainly religious groups on campus now, it is, as most top schools, secular. Wesleyan is known for its liberal slant and tolerance, though these are the type of people that probably wouldn't be tolerated so easily.

They were protesting near one of the bridges leading onto campus from the east. It was a few people holding up "God Hates Fags" signs on the side of the street. To continue my drive home I drove past Ho Plaza, and when I looked down it, sure enough...at least a hundred strong protesting WBC. :)

clearly nobody told that guy that wearing a camcorder on your neck with a lanyard, star-trek sunglasses, and pants that are 3" too short with sneakers looks REALLY gay.

It is my understanding that God is LOVE, and therefore doesn't HATE.

Holy crap, there was a kid in one of those pictures holding a sign that said "Cornell F*gs," what kind of garbage are they feeding him?

gome that's hilarious...very true LOL

I feel proud knowing that 250 people held a counterprotest against these morons.

Go Cornell!!

basically their entire "movement" if it can be called that is based on the translation of ONE single word
[/quote]

which word? jw...

basically they have a list of all of the times that God, then Jesus says effectively "love thy neighbor" from the Old Testament commandment to the latter part of the New Testament and one time later in the NT, there is some Greek word that is part of a list of words that describes how to "love" your neighbor essentially, and it can be translated as sort of like chastising them if they are wrong or do something against God's will and trying to lead them in the right direction because you love them. (sort of...this is somewhat loose i think).

I only wish this was during the school year...u could easily add another 0 to the end of the number of counter protesters. What's funny is that there were just 4 from the church and 1 was a kid. Messed up. (and they r all 1 big family pretty much anyway. I hate Phelps)

i totally dropped the ball on this one guys - that 'dude' i was talking about is actually a woman. Crap.

I think these people just starve for attention and strive to be seen and heard. While being brainwashed at the same time. It's interesting how they choose an extremely rural setting which is even more rural in the middle of summer (population 100 people, 500 cows). Had they done this during the school year I'm sure thousands of people would have turned out.
