The kid i knew, his Uncle was the head of admissions and his dad was the head of regional admissions. Needless to say, he got his acceptance letter when he was born.

Hey, neomanxi, why have your scores and GPA decreased since last February?

According to this post, you had different stats: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/299275-chances-junior.html

Here is what he listed:

"GPA: 3.5 UW I dont know weighted score
My GPA freshman and sophmore year was 3.2 (all honors both years, all B's or A's) and then i got a 4.0 junior year with 7 classes (max able to take). I go to an extremely competitive (named one of the best schools in the midwest and top 50 in nation) private school.
SAT: 2350
-Math 800
-English 800
-Writing 750 (11)

ACT: 36
SAT II:
Math 2: 800
Physics: 800
chem: 800
and ill take bio next year"

But just a few minutes ago in this thread you said these were your stats:

"My hooks are decent, I have really good SAT (760W/770CR/800M) and ACT (35) but I don't have legacy or anything."
"^ It is absolutely ridiculous. last time I checked, all three of those groups are as much a minority as African American or Hispanic. Colleges should really only take socioeconomic background into consideration.

Anti-hook #1: 3.4 gpa (composite)"

Hmmm... proof that people inflate their stats on the chance threads.... And even if you didn't superscore your SATs, why would you list your lower ACT score? Doesn't make sense...

Why would you inflate your stats on the chance threads? It doesn't even make sense. It's not like a bunch of people I don't know telling me I could get into X College off of fake stats would make me feel any better about myself.
and dz2... dang, you went back far.

3 on AP Latin Virgil
630 on Latin SAT II
6/227 in an only very mildly competitive school
ouch

What's wrong with 6/227? You're still in the top 2% or 3%...

It's just a very mediocre city school, with few applying to top tier schools and even fewer getting accepted (No Ivy acceptances in the past four years or so)

rkutzerr,
same here.
My school hasnt been successful for a few years
and apparently our school doesnt do so well with Columbia especially.

::sigh::
