i believe the admit rate at brown will be significantly down this year, with 25,000 applicants.

last year 2100 students were admitted for an overall rate of 13.3%

this year if 2100 are admitted out of 25,000 the admit rate will be a dramatically lower 8.4%

25,000?! How many applied last year?

8.4% is scary .

i think it was just under 21,000

where did this 25,000 number come from?

estimate, it doesnt seem ridiculous either

There goes any chance of me getting in.

I agree Chronic. I give myself a 2% chance of getting in, at the highest.

I think I'll end up at Tulane..not that that is a bad thing I love Tulane.

Good to have a safety school that I love that much.

teamam-
If you go to the Brown website and put your mouse over Admission it says it'll take 19 AOs and 20+ staff members to get through the "almost 25,000 first-year applications" sent in this year.

oh my GOD

i knew about the 25,000 from the website

but i hadn't checked on the class size and done the math

aaaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

you have to realize some ppl are like me applying with only a 31 act that are sure rejects so its okay poseur think of it as at least only 24,999 people

lawl! "only a 31"?

only on CC...

ED acceptance rates were up this year, though, right?

Oh yay, so my chances are even less ?!!?!

Wow. They must be literally tossing apps without a second thought looking at just one piece of info.

Last year, wasn't it the case that more of the accepted students matriculated than expected? Would that cause them to accept fewer than 2100 this year?

luckily im the only person from my area applying to brown + from an underrepresented area with a good interview and adding to the diversity

i think i have a decent shot. heres to being one of the 2100!
