Anxiety Has Gottent he best of me!

I would like to start off by saying that I absolutely despise these threads because I feel that they're stemmed from our own inadequacies but my stress level has gone through the roof. At this point I'll end up in a SUNY school if I don't get into either CUSE or UCONN. I'm not necessarily looking for random posts but rather precedent from students with similar stats. I applied Regular Decision, around January 7th.

So do I stand any chance at UCONN???

The Best of me
I forgot to mention that I applied as a political science major.

mmmmm..... it depends
i think what hurt you is applying so late...
i think you stand a chance but you might get waitlisted
good 1st and 2nd quarter grades though!! good luck!!!

Yeah, applying late hurts. Good rank, but SAT + out of state from NY is also going to hurt. Basically what MPM said.

Thank you both for your responses. I hope that I'm accepted rather than waitlisted, that would be very disappointing. UCONN was the only school that I didn't apply ridiculously early to. I was finished with my apps around early November and I discovered UCONN much later in the process. It seems like a lot of people were deferred under EA though, so I guess it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference.

I'd say you're probably going to be waitlisted. My friend applied with similar stats (slightly lower GPA and slightly higher SATs) and he got waitlisted, but I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for all your replies guys, I just got a response today and I was flat out rejected no waitlist or anything. I'm a bit shocked but what can you do...

That's horrible to hear. I'm glad to see that you've got your head up. With that kind of attitude you'll go far in life. UConn missed out on a great prospect. Good luck.

why are you saying he applied late? The deadline was feb 1

What you can do knight is transfer in after a semester or two elsewhere. It seems a much easier route into UCONN, at least it used to be. Sorry you're not in.
