Yeah, I know we've all received thousands of emails/ snail mail in the last year, but I really liked this one. It's a lot more personal than the usual mass-mailing. It's written by a student ambassador and says that you're a competitive applicant yada yada. The email fits the majors and activities you said you were interested in; the girl that wrote mine was majoring in History (even though I've changed to economics since I filled out that form). It's was a nice little touch and different from the usual impersonal junk you receive from most colleges.

How many of you guys liked this letter?

I liked it a lot. It was very nice to recieve, it did seem more personal than usual.

just out of curiousity, how do colleges get your name/address/etc?

is there anything available to them besides our psat scores?

Well, I went to a college fair and filled out the cards for some colleges.

i LOVED IT!!!! i got mine from an engineering major. i'm wondering if this goes out to everyone, or just the "special club" :-P

If by "special club" you mean anyone whose ever responded to Yale correspondence, yeah its a very elite club. ;)

What about the application booklet? Do they send those out to all test takers who put them down as a school to send their scores to?

Collegeboard sells it for something like six cents a name.

hmm... i didn't get an e-mail, but i have gotten everything else that yale has sent...

I think that you go on to their website
www.yale.edu
and there go to the Prospective Students position and you will get to see a section called recieve/request more information...

then you can get all the info....

GOOD LUCK

yeah i've totally done that... hm. ah well.

yeah. mine wasn't specialized by major, he was just in my area. did you guys actually give them your phone number/e-mail back?

Aw, man...I haven't received anything of the sort. They've only sent me postcards and a few e-mails sniffles

Yeah I got the common app booklet from Yale. Seemed sort of over-the-top, since most schools prefer online common apps to be used...

hmmn...I haven't received anything from Yale even though I submitted my info. online for prospective applicant.
