<p>is it true that Penn State- U Park looks heavily on GPA? Mine isn't great (3.3-3.4) but my SAT scores are good. I sent my app in late October.</p>

<p>RE : GPA.... when it is mentioned that Penn State "looks closely at GPA", do they usually look at just the overall weighted or unweighted GPA or do they analyze the transcript itself to see if there are any Cs, etc.. and in what classes an applicant did well or poor ?</p>

and PA2009, yes 2/3 of the decision is based on GPA

<p>cwryan1 Idk if you have answered me but do you think I have a chance? Fall not summer. GPA is 3.78 SAT 1150 out of 1600 (1680 out of 2400) Lots of Activities and my sister currently goes there and my dad went there. Summited app everything else Nov 1st</p>
<p>I have a GPA of a 4.0 at my school with all honors and AP courses. My best composite score was 1880/2400 on the SAT this fall. I applied August 1st for admission to Penn State-University Park and checked the box for Summer Session. Just seeing where I stand? Any help would be great.</p>

<p>mck2100: my single-test sat was 1260/1600; 1930/2400; GPA: around 3.4(UW). Don't know where I stand though.</p>

<p>My mom called PSU about my major being changed and it said if you are in the middle 50% (and if you havent heard yet, then you are) that they don't start reviewing those until Nov. 30th, today, so we should hear in the next week I think. Hope this helps you guys.</p>

<p>Has anyone heard of someone that has got REJECTED from University Park this application period??????? I was under the impression that the top students were the first to gain acceptance, and the bottom were also among the first applicants to be rejected.....leaving the middle 50% last to be evaluated. Just want to know if no news is good news...............</p>

<p>One of my daughters friends was rejected to UP but accepted at his second choice. He found out about two weeks ago. I believe his GPA was 3.0 or so with SAT around 1700. My D has slighty better stats (3.3 & 28 ACT) and has not yet heard about her application for summer admit.</p>
